Woo! I’m absolutely tickled to have been accepted as a Good Vibrations Brand Ambassador (curtsey). What does it mean? I get a new, cool sex toy from the kind folks at Good Vibes every month, and all I need to do is play with it in every imaginable way, and then tell you about it. I love my life :-).

While I was away on a month long, sexless vacation, the first little package of love arrived, and the G-Twist Vibe was waiting to rescue me. (Uh, third in line, actually… You may say that honeys needed rescuing more than I did by that point ;-)  ).

Down and dirty:

My first impression of G-Twist was “What a pretty design”. Smooth,  slick and futuristic, like Nike sneakers, or one of those new sub-compact cars. (Nothing small about G-Twist, though!) Indeed, when I looked up the manufacturer Fun Factory, turns out they created oodles of gorgeous high quality toys, including the famous Laya Vibe.

Second thought was “Yikes, those ridges look scary. Is this gonna feel like I’m being raped by Alien?” (Sure, buy a black version to scare bejeezus out of your sub, but beware - Good Vibes does not recommend using it for anal sex due to those impressive bumps.)

Well, the ridges were not so bad at the end, though they did make me sore. If you like rougher sensation, this might be a plus for you. In addition, they’re delightful for outer play, rubbing just right. So is the head - curved just right to slide over your clit, as well as over your G-spot. Mmmm…

The flared bottom was a stroke of genius. I usually buy smallish vibes, ’cause I prefer not to be stuffed like a Christmas turkey when I play alone. However, G-Twist combines a medium-width comfort with that extra “oomph” at the end in a way that was, for me, its best feature.

Vibration was not so impressive. Despite the huge range of speed, it was simply not strong enough for me to do much. (To give you an idea of my vibration preferences, intensity of Rabbit vibes tends to bring me to screaming, run-over-by-a-truck kind of orgasms that are almost too much to enjoy on a daily basis.) If you take vibration as a garnish and not the main course, this might work for you. The thumpy low speed setting actually felt the best.

Silicone is a fabulous material that can be liquid, skin soft or firm like rubber. It’s hypoallergenic, and it can be washed well with soap and water or even boiled. This stuff is a lifesaver if you’re allergic to rubber and jelly toys like me, or just want to keep the cooties away. G-Twist is made of fairly firm silicone, which also means that just a little lube goes a long way (a good thing, with those ridges).

I didn’t have any problems opening the battery housing. Simply follow the instructions and make sure you give the sides a good squeeze.

The speed wheel on the bottom is fairly smooth, and I was worried I’d have trouble changing the speed once the lube got everywhere, but surprise, no problems there either. Even with short nails (had to cut them for trip, sorry, honey #1), it was easy to nudge it along.

I’m terribly visual - my favorite vibes and dildos are all yummily hyper realistic, which is one of the reasons the futuristic G-Twist will not be my #1 favorite sex toy, but I’m glad it’s in my toy box. It does provide quite a few sensations the real thing can’t… and I just may take it along for my next Trekkie event ;-).
