Rave: Leather Etc on Folsom St.
I was looking for a nice new pair of wrist cuffs for my pet for the past couple of days. He already has a pretty black collar with gray piping I wanted to match, and they had to be seriously padded, too. After four to five hours of struggling tied up to my bedroom door frame (renter’s St. Andrew’s Cross; I actually like it better ’cause it allows access to front and back simultaneously), he has a tendency to hang off his wrists… blue hands and (unintentional) hard leather chaff marks are not good in my book. They take away attention from the *real* action ;-).
Google is my friend. A search for “gray and black bondage cuffs” turned up Leather Etc, which turned up to be right here in San Francisco, on Folsom & 8th. Woohoo!
You have to be buzzed in - don’t let the closed look turn you away. When the heaven’s gates open, you just might have to get your friend to hold your wallet. They make their own leather goodies, and they make them well, and in great variety. I’ve never seen so many choices of cuff colors, padding and materials. Collars range from heavy duty leather and steel to symbolic rhinestone affairs for sissy boys and girls. Beside the usual assortment of riding crops and floggers, they also have an unusually tempting selection of leather lingerie, skirts and kilts, as well as a *very* thorough choice of gags and quite a few impressive (and very intimidating) sounding sets. And oh, that smell of new leather everywhere… Mmm.
An hour later, I resurfaced from a happy daze with a perfect set of cuffs. This particular pair is one of two heavily padded models. (The other one was more narrow and with even thicker padding of butter-soft garment leather.) Just look at that soft padding and that shiny, smooth steel! There’s not one, not two, but *three* steel loops, too. Ok, I have no idea what to use more than one for (Macrame? To put the bells on?), but they sure look cool. A note about this model - leather strap is thinner than on some other models. It’s going to stretch over time, so keep that in mind and make sure there’s enough holes up the line for a tight fit in the future. I personally like it - they’ll get cinched in a snap even without sub’s cooperation. Teehee…
If you’re searching for a pair of cuffs that can stay on literally day and night, or you’re particular about just the right color, I can’t think of a better place. If you’re not lucky enough to live in the deviant headquarters of San Francisco, you can see and order their goodies online. Pricing is quite reasonable, and they have discounts going on all over - currently 20% off of everything in the brick-and-mortar store, various web specials, and even Twitter specials.
Ooo. This year’s birthday festivities are looking up! See ya at Citadel.
