Whipped and Gagged - not!

Filed under: Rants & Raves, Sex News & Reviews — Tags: , , , , , , , — Webmistress @ 6:57 pm

Extra, extra, read all about it : “California’s government has been subsidizing torture-based pornography”!

Take lurid imagery of young, naked, helpless women being forced into electrocution, whipping and public degradation, add an occasional Abu Grahib reference, throw in an “expert” opinion by a lone San Francisco shrink who still thinks that BDSM equals Nazi camps, and what do you get? (more…)

Cybernet Adult Expo in San Francisco - last chance for discount passes!

Update: Got the discount extended till Apr. 26th. Whoohoo! Just enter code LVNG while registering.

Just like during the dot-com bust, the ongoing recession has dried up the market for live adult entertainment in the Bay Area more than anywhere else… Many escorts and exotic dancers are looking to cast their net further - some travel to the greener pastures around the country, others have turned to the Internet, becoming webcam models or building their own pay sites.

But where’s a girl (or boy, or t-girl) to get educated on how to make it in this new market? We in the Bay Area now have a unique chance to learn it from the pros!

The annual Cybernet Expo, run by the Adult Internet giant Ynot.com has picked San Francisco for its July event. Early birds get a great discount on passes, and Lovings.com has secured an extra discount for our friends - Save $125 off at-the-door price; but you have to get in touch NOW, it’s only good till April 15th! AmazonFail: Internet grows up (in a bad way)

Web is atwitter with the newest outrage in the battle with censorship - the bookseller giant Amazon has tipped the scales between the free speech and corporate interest this weekend.

The rankings have been stripped from many adult and some non-adult books (like “Heather Has Two Mommies”), mostly gay and lesbian, making them harder or impossible to find in search results. A robot glitch? A deliberate policy change? We won’t know until Monday, but some of the authors of adult books have gotten a response that Amazon intends to deliberately throttle “adult” authors.

The highly disproportionate number of LGBT titles, even bestsellers, that got caught in the ‘net makes what’s happening even more troublesome. (more…)

Lovings on Twitter & RSS

It’s been a little silent on Lovings.com blog lately. Sorry about that, but we’ve been busy inventing new, cool stuff.

Lovings.com is now on Twitter! Find us at http://twitter.com/lovings and subscribe to always know who’s happening as soon as we do :-).

We’re publishing the new ad updates on Twitter as well as the stuff about special deals & Webmistress’ unrelated chatter (I promise to keep it to a reasonable level).

Why is this so cool? If you’re at work and can’t log into adult sites, Twitter is a safe(r) alternative. You won’t miss anything from 9-5.

As an alternative, you can now subscribe to a full RSS feed of the “New this week” page, with all the bells and whistles, thumbnails and descriptions - just go to http://www.lovings.com/_rss/new.rss (or click the orange icon next to New this week link) and subscribe in your favorite feed reader (Yahoo, Firefox etc).

(If you’re a geek like me, it’s cool because I got to adapt & troubleshoot the interface for auto-posts and develop our RSS feed…)
